Each week on Qthequestion.com we will feature a throwback interview from your boy Quinton Hatfield AKA Q The Question. I have close to a thousand interviews and some of them were crazy.This interview below was done with supermodel Vida Guerra back in 2006-07 for Nobodysmiling.com, wow it's been sometime but enjoy below.
One occupation in the entertainment industry that's really tough to handle are the daily duties of being a fine and sexy supermodel. From keeping their body in shape to almost getting stalked by magazines for covers can just be crazy, but as they say it comes with the job. One model that's been holding it down and remaining humble which I respect is the Cuban born Vida Guerra. What's been really good with the sexy ass Cuban model Vida Guerra? I'm pretty sure half you cats out there know Vida is fine as hell and now nobodysmiling.com finally got up with the sexy Cubano to see what's been her latest grind. were in my shoes to have the opportunity to model and get the connections to do all the other stuff they would've done it the same exact way." Nobodysmiling.com : So what made you decide to come out with an album all of a sudden? Vida Guerra : It's something I always wanted to do its just that I never had the opportunity or right connections to do it. With the modeling and stuff I was able to meet people and get more connects so I was able to do that. Everybody knows that the music business is hard to get into just as getting into movies and everything. It's kind of like I took the modeling as a stepping stone to get the connections and everything. Nobodysmiling.com : Good as you look I don't think it was that hard for you to get put on [laughs]! Vida Guerra : [Laughs], well there's a lot of things and a lot of politics it's not as easy as people think it is. Nobodysmiling.com : For the fans that don't know what made you pursue a career in modeling, how did you get started? Vida Guerra : Well this is something that I wanted since I was a little girl, but because of me coming from Cuba and my parents not really knowing the English language they just wanted us to have regular jobs and careers. My brother's a cop you know, but I started working regular jobs and something was missing. This (modeling) is something I always wanted to do then an ex-boyfriend of mine submitted some of my photos to a magazine and six months later they called me to do a photo shoot. When I did that I wasn't even thinking of anything, they called me back and the responses were crazy. When I saw how people were reacting to it I thought "You know what I'm a continue to do this", so now I can get the connections and everything that I needed before. Nobodysmiling.com : I guess everybody liked what they saw [laughs]! Vida Guerra : I guess so, I don't know [laughs]. Nobodysmiling.com : I see you were born in Cuba and everything, so how often you go back and visit? Vida Guerra : Well it's really hard to get into Cuba and our family escaped when I was five. The last time I was there was in 1999, because my grandpa was sick. I said I refused to go there unless Fidel Castro is dead or out of power. Nobodysmiling.com : Damn, you have that much hate towards Fidel? Vida Guerra : No man, but if you lived one week in Cuba you would see why. It's so bad, there's no food. They can't go to the store and get food, they basically give you the food that your gonna eat, it's really bad. When I went there in 1999 and when I came home to take a shower, I was loving my shower. People take things for granted out here, well everybody does cause I did, but even a simple shower over there the water is cold and there are little drips of water. Nobodysmiling.com : So Cuba's a communist country? Vida Guerra : It's a real bad communist country, yup. Nobodysmiling.com : That's crazy, so I guess you glad to be in America! Vida Guerra : Of course, I'm definitely glad. Nobodysmiling.com : Now with this album and everything, what type of music you are going to be doing? Vida Guerra : The music is R&B and Hip-Hop. I'm singing and rapping on it, but it's not singing like Mariah Carey singing and it's not rapping like 50 Cent. It's kind of like the style people are doing now, singing and rapping or whatever you wanna call it [laughs]. Nobodysmiling.com : So it's on some "Hip-Pop" type stuff? Vida Guerra : Yeah. Nobodysmiling.com : I feel you on that, with you being a female in the industry how hard it is for people to take you serious? Vida Guerra : It's very hard and that's gonna be one of my biggest challenges I think. I don't see why people think just because you did something else you can't do anything else with the first thing that came out. It's like peoples minds are not bright enough to accept that there's other things that you can do. I'm sure if people were in my shoes to have the opportunity to model and get the connections to do all the other stuff they would've done it the same exact way. They would want everybody to embrace them as I'm hoping they would embrace me as an artist. Nobodysmiling.com : I heard you have a DVD coming out called "Exposed", so what's good with that? Vida Guerra : Yeah it's Vida Guerra "Exposed", it's a DVD coming out December 5th. It's basically the day in the life of me in the places I go and the different things that I do. You get to see me in the recording studio and all the other aspects of me besides the pictures. You get to see my personality, sometimes people think its easy work, but it's not. It just shows all the things that are involved in this whole business. Nobodysmiling.com : Yeah, it's titled "Exposed" I'm think we finally going to get to see it all or something? Vida Guerra : Nah [laughs], you didn't see me in the Playboy issue? Nobodysmiling.com : Nah I didn't see that yet. Vida Guerra : That was out this July you missed it [laughs]. Nobodysmiling.com : [Laughs], I got to get it, you know I be busy too. Vida Guerra : [Laughing]. Nobodysmiling.com : Am I going to like what I see [laughs]? Vida Guerra : I don't know maybe [laughs], I didn't get no complaints, but hey. Nobodysmiling.com : Vida be holding it down! Vida Guerra : Yeah! Nobodysmiling.com : You have a new movie coming out called "Dorm Daze" you want to tell me about that? Vida Guerra : It's already out, it's a national lampoon movie called "Dorm Daze 2" and it's out on DVD. I play a conservative virgin and my character is kind of struggling between her wanting to have sex and her parents telling her to wait until marriage, but she's in love with this guy she's been dating for a long time and she wants to do it. Nobodysmiling.com : What do you liked most about the whole acting experience? Vida Guerra : I love everything, it's kind of like you get to live in everybody else's shoes. It's kind of like you get to live everybody else's life and experience that. Like for me when I go to the movie theaters you forget everything you have, anything you been thinking of you forget for those hours you are watching the movie, I want to be part of that. Nobodysmiling.com : So you look forward to a big acting career? Vida Guerra : Yeah I have movies that I'm starting to do in January all the way until spring time. Vida Guerra Interview Nobodysmiling.com : Now be honest with me, with you being a women and all do you think all men are dogs? Vida Guerra : That's funny, I just saw this thing on "HBO" and this girl was like "Women we gotta stop calling men dogs, because dogs are loyal". Do I think men are dogs? You know what that's kind of hard right now. I think some men are dogs just like some women are, you know [laughs]. Nobodysmiling.com : Well you know girls do their dirt too! Vida Guerra : Exactly, so it takes two to tangle. Nobodysmiling.com : You never did any dirt did you [laughs]? Vida Guerra : No I never did, cause I always do what I want people to do to me, so I would not do no dirt. I wouldn't want nobody to do dirt to me, cause karma is a mug. Nobodysmiling.com : You know how they say you do dirt it comes right back! Vida Guerra : Yeah it does and when it comes back it's twice as harsh if not more. Nobodysmiling.com : Back to the acting, did you get a coach or you just went with the flow? Vida Guerra :I took classes in New York, but when I did that movie I didn't have an acting coach. Now I got three movies coming up I've been working with an acting coach. He's worked with LL Cool J, Marlon and Shawn Wayans, Jennifer Lopez, he's really big out here. I'm gonna have him with me on the set of the movie, cause I want to bring my "A" game you know. Nobodysmiling.com : Besides the acting and modeling, what you like to do for fun? Vida Guerra : I like to go to amusement parks, I like to go bowling, the movies and I like to shop, very simple. Nobodysmiling.com : I feel you, so hopefully if I meet you one day we're going out [laughs]. Vida Guerra : Yeah [laughs]. Nobodysmiling.com : With the videos and everything what have you picked up from that whole experience? Vida Guerra : When I was in my start of doing music videos I would see how they run everything and the lingo that they use which I can apply now to do my own video. Not only that I used it to do the movies, you have to be at the right place and it's a lot of things that are involved in that. Everything I do I always try to get some experience and knowledge of it. I don't do it just to do it, cause I turned downed a lot of things. Nobodysmiling.com : You turn down a lot of guys [laughs]? Vida Guerra : Nah, not a lot of guys. A lot of things like other videos to do and a lot of other jobs that I didn't see how it would help me in anyway. Nobodysmiling.com : So I'm assuming you have a man? Vida Guerra : Your assumption is incorrect [laughs]. Nobodysmiling.com : [Laughs], why not you look too good for that! Vida Guerra : Well you know it's kind of hard, because it's kind of like a double-edged sword. I don't have time and then when I do have time the person doesn't understand and it's really hard. Then their not trusting, it's hard man. Nobodysmiling.com : You said you don't do no dirt! VG: I know, I don't do no dirt, but guys find it hard to believe. It's like you, you have a lot of girls hitting on you and stuff, but when she's with you she's see's that, so it's hard for her to believe you are not doing nothing, especially when you are on the road and stuff being away from them. Nobodysmiling.com : You look forward to marriage and kids in the future? Vida Guerra : Yeah, of course. Nobodysmiling.com : How many kids would you like to have! Vida Guerra : Two [laughs] Nobodysmiling.com : Why two? Vida Guerra : I don't know, cause my mom and dad had only two [laughs]. Nobodysmiling.com : Vida you seem like a real down to earth girl! Vida Guerra : Yeah, that's what many say. Nobodysmiling.com : What's next up and what fans can look-out for? Vida Guerra : I have the Vida Guerra "Exposed" and I have the album coming out the first quarter of 2007, then the three movies which are going to be really good. The album is R&B and hip-hop, singing and rapping. I'm just hoping everybody loves my music. Nobodysmiling.com : You think you can give me a quick 16 bars of you rapping? Vida Guerra : No [laughs again]. Nobodysmiling.com : Why not, I want to see how you sound, I'm going to hear it sooner or later! Vida Guerra : [Laughs],it doesn't sound good when it's over the phone. Nobodysmiling.com : But were going to hear it over the radio anyway [laughs]! Vida Guerra : No [laughs], you have to come to one of my performances. Where are you located? Nobodysmiling.com : I'm in college right now in North Carolina. Vida Guerra : North Carolina [excitedly], I'm performing December 9th in North Carolina, that's my first performance. Nobodysmiling.com : You coming to Greensboro! Vida Guerra : I don't know where it is. Actually it's at a military base, is there a military base by you. Nobodysmiling.com : Yeah! Vida Guerra : Yup, that's where I'll be December 9th. Nobodysmiling.com : Hopefully I can meet you and look forward to seeing you there! Vida Guerra : Yeah, come and see me perform!
