Recently, I was able to check out Philly’s own stand up comedian, Kevin Hart known to the world now as “Mr. Seriously Funny,” when he stopped in Nashville, for his new tour titled “Laugh At My Pain.” The show opened up with two guest comedians, Spank (who also hails from Philly) and Jersey boy, Na’im Lynn. Spank served as the host and set the tone of the night with his school jokes, club experiences, and a special roll call for the ladies. Na’im Lynn came out to Drake’s hot single, “Fancy” and was an instant hit when he cracked a joke on an audience member who claimed, he had never performed oral sex to his wife or point blank period. Instantly, the room was filled with laughter as Na’im Lynn went in on the middle-aged married man with his unforgettable big eye gestures. (So hint to the fellas, if you plan to catch the show you might not want to let Na’im know your a oral sex virgin, because he will go in on you!) Before hitting the stage, Hart set the tone with his old school intro music from The Five Heartbeats soundtrack with the hit, “A Heart is a House of Love.” You could hear the audience chime in on the chorus. Then the moment of truth arrived, when funny man Kevin Hart walked out on the stage, with Jay-Z’s “You Don’t Know,” playing in the background, standing at 5 5”, rocking a flannel button down shirt and jeans. Upon, grabbing the mic, he received a loud applause, high pitch screams from the ladies, and someone screaming “I Love You Kevin!”
Kevin Hart of course responded in saying, “I love you!”

In the beginning, of his sold out, “Laugh at My Pain” show, Kevin announced his Seriously Funny DVD is already platinum and that he loved all of his fans for supporting him. He also, announced he has a new Comedy Central sitcom called “Odd Couple” coming out soon and in December we can expect to see him in a Meet the Fockers’ Sequel movie. After, providing a quick run down of his upcoming projects, he wasted no time, in starting his joke session, since he added a late show. ( The 7:30 show audience was not to happy about that, because they believed they purchased tickets in advance for the last show and he would tell jokes longer. In fact, all of his 8 shows were sell-outs in Nashville, TN so if you are planning to check him out in a city near you get your tickets early.) The “Laugh at My Pain,” tour highlights Kevin’s pain through comedy from his personal stand point with his family, life in the industry, his separation from his wife ( yes ladies he’s single and ready to be a sex symbol) , and new sayings that you will find yourself using within your own life. He is sure to have you saying Alright, Alright, Alright! ( That’s just a small sample of what you can expect.)
As I watched him, on stage I found myself thinking, “Is he making this up?” or saying, “He’s talking about me or a family member of mine.” In my opinion, I believe Kevin Hart will be on the level of Will Smith in the future. He posesses a natural talent with his comedy and offers a genuine personality, focused mindset, and hard work ethic. He is on the right track to become a mogul in the industry with his comedy, production, acting, and branding. As a comedian, he capitalizes on the industry and stands out because he tells real stories that his fans can relate too.
He is sure to make you cry with laughter as he presents his real life experiences as only he can. This is definitely one comedy show, you will want to check out and it is worth the money! Who knows if you play your cards right you may be part of his next DVD. I advise each of you to check your local listings and be a part of his world.
