You hear it all the time, but do you really listen? Do you really understand the importance of MARKETING? What does it mean to you? Where does it fit into your overall business plan or does is it fit at all? It is one word that can make the difference in how your future looks, so why take chances. The goal of Marketing is to create a value to capture your target demo/audience's attention. How do you "create a value" with your business? What makes you stand out? Why should your intended recipient "pass go" and proceed straight to YOU? Good question.........

Whether it be a jingle, mascot, song, etc, these are all marketing tools to "create a value" and brand your business. (McDonald's - "I'm lovin' It", Chick-fil-A - "Eat Mor Chikin" Cows, Jay-Z - "The Roc Symbol") If you are an artist, branding can simply apply to your name, style, signature sound/move, etc. You do not have to spend your life savings to create effective marketing. No matter what industry you are in, I can promise that almost all Internet marketing is going to be successful as the Internet is one the hottest growing industries with social media sites serving as priority marketing tools. The benefit to social marketing sites is the simple fact that they are FREE.99! No excuses for that category! Another great marketing/press tool are Radio/TV PSAs (Public Service Announcements) which is free publicity typically used for promoting charity events, community initiatives and more. Also, there are many free community calendars on community websites in your area including media websites. Which leads me to a very important tip about charity and community relations...DO IT! Identify a charity or cause that represents your beliefs and purpose thus creating necessary community relations. You support them and they will support you offering much needed "word of mouth" helping grow your brand. It all starts in your community and expands from there.

There are so many techniques to offer in this marketing game. It's not complicated, so don't let anyone tell you otherwise. There are many marketing, promotions, public relations professionals more than happy to develop the next superstar. Research your options and make sure paperwork is always involved. If you don't want to commit to a contract right away, go with "a la carte" items so that you can make sure that you are working with the professional who best understands your vision. After all, we chose a career to help build your career!
