Last season the Chicago Bears offense struggled for most of the season, however that was before the emergence of wide receiver Devin Aromashodu who quarterback Jay Culter lobbied to get on the field. He quickly became one of Cutler’s favorite targets and it resulted with Aromashodu catching 7 passes for 150 yards and a game-winning touchdown in overtime against the Minnesota Vikings that cost the Vikings home field advantage in the playoffs. Now in a potential make or break season for head coach Lovie Smith the Bears have brought in Mike Martz the former coach of “The Greatest Show on Turf” to go up against the impressive offenses of the Vikings and Green Bay Packers. Qthequestion.com talks with Devin about the up and coming season, the new offense, Jay Cutler and more.

Qthequestion.com: At the end of last season you began to breakout, you had a huge game on “Monday Night Football” so how has the momentum helped you through the off-season and minicamps?

DA: It gave me basically a lot of confidence knowing that I was capable of playing like that and contributing and helped me focus on other things. Other than worrying about whether I’m going to be on the team or not, just kind of focus of playing football and trying to get a good relationship with everyone on the offense.

Qthequestion.com: Last season your quarterback Jay Culter went to the coaching staff and lobbied for you get on the field more, how did that feel to have your quarterback lobbied on your behalf?

DA: That made me feel good knowing that the quarterback wanted me to be out there. As a receiver you always want a quarterback that wants you on the field so knowing that he wanted me out there made me feel real good.

Qthequestion.com: What is your relationship like with Culter?

DA: Well we have a good relationship. It just something that kind of clicks when we get on the field. Off the field its kind of normal, but when were on the field he likes to throw me the ball and I like catching his ball so we have a good relationship with each other.

Qthequestion.com: Last season Culter came in with a lot hype and fanfare and also face some criticism, so do you think that there is too much pressure being put on Culter?

DA: No I don’t think there is too much being put on him, he is a NFL starting quarterback and there is always going to be pressure on him being in that position he’s in so it comes with the territory. I don’t think there is too much being put on him, but that’s why we’re the supporting cast. We’re here to take some of that pressure off of him.

Qthequestion.com: I know that you are getting a new offense under Mike Martz, how do you like the new offense?

DA: Oh I love the new offense, it gives us a lot of opportunities as a receiver to have a lot of balls so I’m excited and can’t wait and until we start playing games.

Qthequestion.com: What has been the most difficult part about learning the new offense, I saw quote from Devin Hester (Bears WR) during the minicamps season were he said that its like a pop quiz almost every day its always something new in practice, so has it been difficult learning your new offense?

DA: It’s been a little difficult because a lot of variations and things we can do. So sometimes it can be a little confusing but you just have to stay on top of it and I think were all getting better and better with it as each day passes.

Qthequestion.com: I know that Mike Martz’s playbook is very large playbook so how has he teaching you guys the playbook?

DA: He’s been giving us as much as he can, just trying to overload us to see how much we can handle. So he is kind of testing us to see what we’re learning. Every thing has been good but we’re really learning a lot at a time.

Qthequestion.com: What are your feelings about the Chester Taylor pickup and teaming up with Matt Forte in the backfield?

DA: I think it’s a great that we pick up Chester, he is a great back and can definitely help us catching the ball out of the backfield so I’m excited that we have him to help Matt out.

Qthequestion.com: What about your tight end Greg Olsen, how has he looked through minicamp so far?

DA: He’s looked real good, real good. He will be out wide some, he will be at tight end some, it’s a lot of different looks we will be able to show teams. Greg’s been his usual self.

Qthequestion.com: Now me being a North Carolina boy I’m sill little upset you all have my man Julius Peppers up there, so how has Julius being adapting to his new defense?

DA: (Laughs) I really don’t know much but he looks real good from what I see. We’ll see come the first game, but everyone is excited about him being on the team so I’m sure he will have chances to make his plays.

Qthequestion.com: What about your defensive leader Brian Urlacher, I know he is coming back from wrist surgery. How has been taking part in the minicamps?

DA: Yes, he has been a part, we’ve had full participation from everybody so he’s been there so we’re excited to get him back.

Qthequestion.com: Does he look like his old self? Is he flying around the field?

DA: Yes. He’s flying around we don’t have any pads on though.

Qthequestion.com: I liked to ask you about your coach Lovie Smith, there is a lot of pressure there. Everyone is saying that is a make or break season for him, how is handling the pressure? Does he still appear to be confident?

DA: Yes he’s confident; I we think we have a good team so I think Coach Smith knows that he has nothing to be worried about. He knows that with the group that we have that we’ll go out there and contribute and make plays so I don’t think he is too worried.

Qthequestion.com: How about your division the NFC North, how do you see the Vikings and Packers doing this season?

DA: Both of them have good teams and great quarterbacks and it is definitely a tough division but we’ll see what happens.

Qthequestion.com: What are your expectations for you as a player and for your team?

DA: Well for my team, I expect to win the Super Bowl, that’s what you set out to do before the season starts win it all. That’s the team-wide expectation. For me, I just want to go out and anytime I have an opportunity to make a play than make the play and I think if I do that then everything else will take care of itself. That’s what I’m focused on going out and making plays anytime I have the opportunity to.
