Hoping to gain momentum for her sophomore album “At That Point” slated to release later this year, R&B songstress Tierra Mari hands over the new 7 track EP “Sincerely Yours”. Dropping a new EP before a major release is definitely a good idea. With the way things are going in the business right now with fans attention spans shorter than Snow White’s Dwarf’s why not, drop a quick quality project with good music to digest and soak in. “Sincerely Yours” could be the start for Tierra Mari taking her career finally to that next level. The EP “Sincerely Yours” contains the hit record “Sponsor” Ft. Soulja Boy and Gucci Mane. While it still will be on the new project to drop later on, “Sponsor” is an easy highlight of the project. The single from the EP is of course the record “Body” produced by Oak with additional production by Bangladesh. The song is a teaser anthem where Mari brags on her sexy body and how an ex who “used” to possess it no longer can. This is a solid record and one where Mari rubs it in saying, “Ain’t it funny what a breakup can do for you, check out my body while I’m walking to my new boo.” Whoever she’s referring to, he must be heated right now hearing that (laughs). As the EP progresses and moves forward, Tierra Mari seems to open up in her music about her past relationships. From the way it sounds she comes off as a woman who speaks her mind and will tell how she feels. When you open your ears to a record like “Uneasy” you can hear the pain and her ex-boyfriend did dirt, Tierra Mari returns the revenge by outcasting him. Tierra Mari was on point seeking out assistance from popular songwriter Rico Love on “Emergency”. Yeah it gives off the vibe of an “I Need Love, Rescue Me” record but at the end of the day the song is fire. One record on “Sincerely Yours” that’s garners attention is the regretful ballad “Stranger”. Mari sings painfully on a relationship that went wrong. Reflecting back on meeting this person she regrets ever letting him into her life and should’ve simply kept him a stranger. Vocally Mari gives off some pretty decent high notes as well to showcase her talent. Another great offering Mari hands over is titled “You Might Get Lucky” which adds to the fact why this is a pretty good project. While some more time is added to when the album “At That Point” will drop, it was good to get warmed up with “Sincerely Yours”. Closing things out, since the EP was a good foundation of what Tierra Mari can bring, maybe that album is something to look forward to.
