Tity Boi and Dolla make the dynamic duo Playaz Circle. If you don’t know what that means is what it stands for Preparing Legal Assets for Years from A-Z. Signed to one of the illest artist in the game on Ludacris’s DTP Records, Tity and Dolla provide a sound like no other that the streets can always gravitate too. Yeah, some might hear their music and try to say it typical southern dope boy rap, but I the streets will always have their back knowing they make music for the real. Pretty much their first 2007 release titled “Supply & Demand” says it all. Gaining major success from the get-go that gave him big recognition was the hit single with Lil Wayne “Duffle Bag Boy” giving Playaz Circle the jumpstart needed to become a household name in the game.
It 2009 now and Playaz Circle is now ready to make a return. With the new album coming by the name of “Flight 360″:The Takeoff, the two best friends fell this is the new album in the next phase of their careers to make them even more loved and respected in the industry. In this exclusive interview I got with the crew on a call to discuss a lot and they both spoke confident that this time coming, their prepared for takeoff.
Starting the interview off with Tity Boi on what the hustle has been like preparing for new album, he was proud to break it down.
“We’ve been shooting a lot of videos, trying to get the imagery out. We are trying to paint a lot of pictures with the album with the lyrics and everything. We just teamed up with DTP and they was feeling the album so much that they wanted to get behind it 110%. We putting all the visuals out there and concepts of what we came out with.”
Dolla being Tity Boi’s right hand man was excited about the project as well. When you look at the history of the two you can tell that they’ve always been tight. Even in the early start of their careers when Dolla was incarcerated Tity Boi no matter what stayed by his side and knew with dtermination that one day it was going to be their time. Dolla going in the interview threw his aspect what how the grind has been maintained. More mixtapes were coming and the last few months to keep the names buzzing the two even released solo mixtapes in the streets.
Dolla shared what was in store,
“Titty Boi got solo mixtapes and I do as well, we just keeping it moving man. We got our own artist so you will definitely be hearing a lot from us in the future.”
Not only that Dolla was so hyped about the features on this project he threw the names out quick on who was on it.
“We got Cee-lo, Jagged Edged, Bobby V., Raekwon, I’m glad to tell you this in advance.”
Many artist for years after making it big come back to out their own artist out. Yet, many times in the industry you hear of artist that sign with the biggest names, but never see a release even if they dreamed about it. A lot of times they get dropped, get into bad beef with the CEO/Rapper that brought him along, the whole nine yards. In the case of DTP you can also say it was like that to some extent. Chingy the ST. Louis charm left and came back, R&B hitmaker Bobby Valentino has left, and the label had a roster of others who never got the shine (Serius Jones). Playaz Circle at the same time is still around and many would wonder why Luda continues to give them a push.
Dolla explains confidently,
“We’ve put our careers in our own hands, a lot of times artist get record deals and think it’s over. It’s never over with, you cannot let anyone decide your path. We had to create our own buzz, the movement we got was on our own. That’s what we did and that’s why we here right now. We took it upon ourselves to keep the ball rolling.”
The crew just leaked a new single with Ludacris title “Gettin Rich” which I will cosign is a banger. Great production and all. Tity gladly speaking on the album hops in for some positive statements.
“Man if you loved gettin rich you definitely gonna love what’s on the album, the record with OJ Da Juice Man “Stupid” is doing well and getting mad views online. The song with Bobby v. is hot too so keep your ears open, we coming strong.”
A lot of times in the industry the best crews break up over pride and ego. Tity Boi and Dolla you can say will not let that get in the way as their here for the long run. Realizing it takes two and needing each other is the best option, Playaz Circle is here to get rich and have the whole crew eating. First time they came out the streets demanded so they supplied, now it’s time for them to takeoff and this time Tity and Dolla will be going 360.
